Underground Railroad activities

Since February is fast approaching, it is time to bring out the Black History Month projects.

Harriet Tubman Class Story
The first project is intended for lower primary grades. I found it over at the First Grade Frenzy Blog. This is a free, simple “book” that you can download. Each page tells a fact of Harriet Tubman’s life and the kids illustrate each page. Cute!

Learning Spanish duoLingo Style!

This web site is fun, educational and FREE! It is called duolingo. You learn a language while helping to translate the world wide web. Sounds impossible? I thought so too until I tried it out. I know I sound like a cheesy infomercial here but I swear they aren't paying me to write this. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! (I couldn't resist.) This web site reminds me of Rosetta Stone but did I mention that it is free!? Check it out...

Try it and let me know what you think!
